Founded and led by Dr. Felicia V. Black and Ms. Courtney L. Black, SSAIC unites researchers, practitioners, community-based artists, educators, and caregivers.

Our Mission

Sankofa Sol Arts Inquiry Collective (SSAIC) is a Black-women led performance inquiry collective dedicated to centering the stories of Black and Brown women and their communities through diverse artistic expressions and rigorous inquiry. We advocate for Black and Brown women caregivers to advance the discourse around women's knowledge production and to challenge prevailing stereotypes about Black and Brown women's care and education contributions. Our vision is a world where the invaluable contributions and diverse narratives of Black and Brown Diasporic women and their communities are recognized, celebrated, and integrated into a truly equitable society.
