We are Rev. Dr. Felicia Black and Ms. Courtney L. Black, creators of Sankofa Sol Arts Inquiry Collective (SSAIC) at Lillie B’s House—our creative arts studio and sanctuary.

In 2025, we advocated for Black and Brown caregivers and creatives through our unique style of creative care. With your support, we achieved incredible milestones, from equitably paying artists and creating student positions for Cuyahoga Community College and Cleveland State University, to offering residency for a local playwright, local writer, and hosting public offerings, including our favorite community event: Trick or Treat Night!

Now, we have reached a monumental moment. Following the success of The Nanny Project: You Can’t Overlove Anything, SSAIC has been invited to perform at the American Folklife Center-Library of Congress (LOC) symposium in Washington, DC, in March 2026.

To honor this sacred process and keep our mission thriving, we are launching an End-of-Year campaign to raise $34,800 by February 1, 2026.

Where Your "Vital Energy" Goes

Giving is an energy. To keep our mission alive in 2026, we have critical financial needs to secure our travel and operational expenses.

Our $34,800 Goal Breakdown:

• ✈️ $13,000: The DC Journey. Travel stipends and equitable pay for SSAIC’s 10-person team to travel to Washington, DC, March 11-13, 2026.

• 🏠 $14,400: The Sanctuary. Maintaining our operational costs through December 2026. This ensures a space for SSAIC rehearsals and a sacred environment for the community to generate ideas and hold space.

• 💻 $5,000: Technology Upgrades. Equipment needs as we expand our work virtually.

• ☕ $2,400: Hospitality. Studio tea, coffee, and program refreshments for our guests and artists.
